A study conducted by GE Capital Bank in 2013 found that on average 80 percent of consumers search for information online before making a purchasing decision.

This percentage should continue to grow with the prospect of permanent connection and in relation to the degree of confidence toward information online.

From clothing, to electronics to major appliances but even in the automotive sector, the Web is increasingly influencing purchasing decisions by changing consumer habits.

According to a Google analysis, 90 percent of vehicle shoppers use digital channels, and younger shoppers are as much as six times more likely to use technology as part of their shopping experience,

Google also reports the data on mobile growing strongly: 35 percent of vehicle buyers use their mobile devices to search for cars or services.

The survey also shows that 81% of customers buy a car within 3 months and 76% spend more than they had budgeted.

The data and statistics of online buyers in the Automotive sector are mainly from the U.S. as there is no European observatory yet and particularly for the Italian market.
